As you know, I like a good makeup palette, and this offering from Laura Mercier might just be my favourite.
It’s quite a little compact, but it packs a punch. On the top level you find three gorgeous tawny brown shadows, a liner and lipgloss.
From left to right you have Buttercream (a matte, cream shadow perfect for making me look awake, and a perfect base), Rosewood (a luster shadow, which I love wearing on my lid for day), Cocoa Brown (a gorgeous cool-toned brown sateen shadow which is great for a deeper smoky eye) and Tightline Cake eyeliner in chocolate brown.
The colors are perfect for someone like me that lives in brown shadows. Not only this, but there is the most perfect mini lip glace in Sweetheart.
Like all Laura Mercier glosses, it has quite a noticeable vanilla scent in the tube, but once it’s on, the smell isn’t noticeable.
I love everything about this gloss. It looks quite pink in the tube, but it goes on quite sheer, with just a hint of colour. It’s shiny enough without looking too greasy, and it feels more like a balm. The dinky little size is adorable too!
On the lower portion of the compact there is (the lipgloss again) a Bronzing Pressed Powder in matte bronze and a Second Skin Cheek Color in Sweet Mandarin.
I have been dying to try Laura Mercier’s bronzer for ages, and it doesn’t disappoint. The formula is gorgeous – the colour is perfect, and a quick swipe is all you need to look like you’ve had a weekend away somewhere exotic. There is absolutely no oompa-loompa undertones – it’s perfect.
Sweet Mandarin is a gorgeous coral-pink blush which reminds me of NARS‘ Orgasm. It gives a really pretty flush, and I’m kind of addicted to the both together. The compact is beyond perfect if you’re looking for something which you can use everyday, and it’s dinky little size means it’s perfect for popping in your makeup bag too!
The palette is part of the Laura Mercier Holiday collection and is priced at £31.00 and is available from Selfridges.
