When I heard that MAC and Proenza Schouler were collaborating for a limited edition makeup collection, I just knew I had to get in on the action. I’ve lusted after Proenza Schouler’s designs forever, and still dream about the blue and neon yellow tie-dye shirt from their 2009 collection.
The makeup collaboration is pretty genius. It comprises of a few lipsticks, lipliners, eyeliners, blushes and a brush. To be honest, what I really desperately wanted from the collection was one of the ombre blushes. I didn’t care which colour, but I just wanted one. Unfortunately, by the time I had logged into Selfridges they were completely sold out, so I grabbed myself the blush (MAC 129 SE) and an eyeliner in Black Ice.
I also wanted to get the Woodrose lipstick and Thimbleweed nail polish, but considering I have just cleared out my stash I thought I probably didn’t need another neutral lipstick and polish! The brush though, is perfection. I always like to have a mini powder brush in my makeup bag so I can touch up on the go. I am obsessed the tie dye/petrol finish on the handle. I just think it looks so pretty and the bristles are so soft! I had bought one last year as part of the 2013 Summer Collection (you can see it here), so I knew I would love it.
I wear black eyeliner on a daily basis, so I thought I may as well grab one which looked as awesome as this! The pencil is Black Ice, which is part of the permanent collection, and it’s a great everyday liner. The formula is smooth enough for perfect application, and the colour glides on effortlessly. Thankfully, for a product which feels as silky as this one, it doesn’t smudge all over.
The collection launched on May 1st, exclusively at Selfridges. There are still quite a lot of pieces left online, and you can find it all here.
