Rodial Crash Diet

So I don’t think I’m alone in my quest to shape up for summer.

I have just found out I’m heading down to London in a fortnight, then I’m going to New York in August, so my gym regime has been well and truly ‘upped.’ For the short-term goal of London, I’m not trying to do anything too drastic, but rather just look as good as possible, so I’ve been leaning on Rodial for the past week or so.

I’m not going to lie. I first bought the Rodial Crash Diet about 18 months ago but never really stuck to it. This time though, I have been pretty good and have been consistent for just over a week.

Despite the somewhat worrying product name, Crash Diet is pretty simple, comprising of 2 elements (there used to be 3). Twice a day apply the body gel in upward motions from feet to abdomen, then drink a sachet of the Crash Diet sticks. These little sticks are meant to work as a diuretic and amp up your metabolism – win win! The drink isn’t too bad – mix with 100ml of water and you get a slightly funky tasting peach iced tea. Thirdly, there used to be a smoothie sachet which Rodial has now discontinued, but you can still grab them at Space NK. The smoothie used to be the worst part of the whole thing – before I used to just mix with 200ml of skimmed milk, and it was really horrendous – both the taste (fake strawberry banana) and the consistency (weird and gloomy). What has really changed this time is how I’ve prepared the smoothie – instead of just straight up milk, I give it a whiz in the blender with a banana too. As a meal replacement its pretty good – now I just get a slightly bland banana smoothie, and it actually tasted good the time I mixed in some blueberries, plus my extreme amounts of ice mean I get cups and cups for the 130 calories of mix and banana.

I’m not going to lie – the weight doesn’t melt away – I’m still working out for 1 1/2 hours a day 5 or 6 days a week, but I have noticed that the plan makes me think about my food choices throughout the day, and now I weirdly look forward to my lunch smoothie. There has been a noticeable weightloss, especially around my hips, which is always a good thing! Once I have finished the regime properly I’ll update and let you know how it went!
