Shu Uemura are currently celebrating their 30th anniversary with a new Iconic Collection. Featuring eyeshadows, blush, lipsticks and of course lashes, the offerings are sure to tempt. After trialling and testing their Rouge Unlimited for a previous blog post, I couldn’t wait to try a more adventurous colour. As a rule, pinks and nudes make up about 99%of my lip collections – there is just something so easy about slicking on a natural balm and being ready to go. When I saw PK 355, I fell completely in love – this is not like any of my (admittedly few) reds. The formula is beautifully matt – think smooth application and velvety colour, which applies perfectly evenly.
The lipstick is a perfect pinky-red fruit punch, and it is just made to be worn with a tan, freckles and a hint of mascara. This is a holiday essential – no joke, it is ridiculously pretty. There is a slight blue undertone to the colour, which makes teeth look whiter, and skin look tan(ner) basically, this is an all-round flattering, perfect little tube. The formula doesn’t make my lips feel like sandpaper, and after a couple of hours the colour fades evenly, leaving a pretty strawberry stain behind, which looks perfect under a clear balm.
I have really become quit a fan of the lip pies which are priced £19.00 and are available at http://www.shuuemura.co.uk
