Laura Mercier Rouge Nouveau Weightless Lip Color*

Just launched last month is Laura Mercier‘s newest lip offerings – the Rouge Nouveau Weightless Lip Color – a mouthful? Yes, but if you’re a lipstick fan (and who isn’t) it’s really in your best interest to check these out.

Look at how pretty the colours are – as you would expect from the brand, the colors are amplified naturals, and are so, so pretty! Packaged in slim tubes with slanted ends, the lip colors are perfect for popping into your makeup bag. The formula of the lip colors are wonderful – the new formula is 100% wax free, which means the colour glides on effortlessly and there is none of the tugging of some other lipsticks. When applied they feel more like a balm, and are completely weightless. Even the darkest colour feels completely natural to wear – impressive for someone like me who is a little afraid of sporting a dramatic look.

First up is Muse, a rich true berry shade. The shade is matte, but manages to make lips look lush and full. The colour is just perfect for evenings and for fall, and the wear-time is incredible – 4 hours until a touchup was necessary, but even then I was left with a flattering lip stain.

Next up is Cafe – a cream formula which is a pink toned amplified nude. This is just the perfect shade if you’re looking for a natural-but-better look which is begging to be worn with a smoky eye. The formula is easily built up, with one slick leaving lips slightly tinted while two or three gives a more regular lipstick-like finish. The wear time of Cafe is good – 3 hours until a touchup, but again, my lips were still stained with the colour.

Last, but certainly not least is Shy, the lightest of the three and a sheer warm pink. This is a hybrid of a lipstick, balm and gloss. A couple of coats of this and I’m good to go. With this you get a healthy, shiny pink, which fades down in about 2 hours. For everyday use, this is definitely my favorite. With this, you get a healthy and pretty shade which is perfect for a natural but polished look.

The Rouge Nouveau are priced at £20.00 each and are available here
