It’s getting perilously close to the big day on Wednesday, so if you’re looking for a last-minute gift which is a complete no-brainer, head directly to your nearest Too Faced counter.
The palette comes packaged in the most adorable aqua and gold box, covered with shiny gold confetti. It’s just so pretty, and it won’t seem too ‘Christmassy’ after the season has passed. It’s the size of a decent book, and about the same weight too – so sturdy enough to hold up to constant use.
Once you open up the packaged, you are greeted with the most gorgeous 15 shadows (all with adorable festive names) along with a full-sized Lashgasm mascara.
On the inside lid, you also get a handy guide to three looks to guide you through some basic looks.
The top row is a trio of warm-toned neutrals. Cookie Dough is a soft peach-toned nude which is just perfect for day use. Cheers is a rose-gold champagne shimmer which is a beautiful shade to highlight with. Prancer is a copper-toned foil-like shimmer.
Sugar Plum is the most gorgeous, cool toned plum, which is sprinkled with silver glitter particles, I am completely obsessed with it used at the lash line. Mulberry is a cool-toned matte taupe which is a beautiful base for an amped-up, natural eye. Last up on the row is Snow Angel, a creamy ivory white. It really brightens up my lids, and I love the soft texture.
Powdered Sugar is another base shade, it’s very much like Snow Angel, except it has a pink undertone. Too-Too is a divine, baby pink shadow with teeny-tiny silver sparkles through it. I’m not usually a pink-shadow fan, but I love this, and it really brightens up the eye area too! Yule Log is a glittery cool-toned brown. I am obsessed with the little golden glitter particles in it. This is a shadow just made for smoky eyes.
Chestnut is actually a little darker than it photographs – its a warm, metallic brown with a flattering, satin finish. Twinkle is a warm-gold foil finish shadow, and I love it popped in the corner of the eyes for something a little different. Joy is an icy blue satin shadow, for such a light shade, the colour pay-off is really incredible.
In the bottom row there is Spike the Punch, a light, warm toned peach with silver glitter, I love this on my bare eyelids for a little daytime glitter. Chimney, a metallic blue-toned grey, which looks so pretty with Joy, and Lastly there is Coal, a true matte black shadow which is such a kit essential for lining.
To complete your festive eye -looks, you get a full sized Lashgasm.
I really can’t believe I haven’t picked one of these up before. The mascara is a creamy black, and it makes your lashes look incredible!
I’m always a little nervous around hard plastic heads like this (I’m clumsy and worried about blinding myself) but this really grabs every lash. A couple of coats and my lashes were evenly coated, curled and elongated – perfect!
I can’t convey how much I adore this palette – I audibly squealed when I unwrapped it. I love that it has a definite Christmas feel, but that the shades are so beautiful that I will definitely be using this all 2014!
The palette is priced at £38.00 and is available here (on special!!)
