I thought it was appropriate to showcase this particular BB Cream since we’re all in the grip of resolutions, and this encourages you to ‘be your best.’
I can be a little picky when it comes to bases – I don’t like anything too heavy, too shiny, too coloured – well, you get the idea! Philosophy’s offering comes in two shades (light and medium) which is ridiculously limited in this day and age. I am NW20 and use light, so darker skintones are really going to struggle with the colour choice.
So that’s my bugbear with the cream, so onto the positives. First up, it’s SPF 30 and it provides protection against UVA and UVB, so even if you’re regular moisturizer isn’t all singing all dancing, the BB has you covered. The tube has a little pump applicator, which keeps everything perfectly hygienic and tidy – such a score for neat-freak me.
Application-wise, 1-2 pumps is more than enough to cover my face and neck. I apply with a latex sponge, and the formula just applies seamlessly, and it melts into skin, covering imperfections and evening out tone, without looking or feeling heavy or artificial. Despite claiming to have a luminous finish, I never feel shiny with it on, and it really does just look like an improved version of my skin!
The cream is priced £22.50 and is available from www.philosophyskincare.co.uk
