If you’re looking to master the natural but polished look for 2014 – Pur Minerals have made it ridiculously easy with their Bare It All Kit.

The back of the box has a kind of user guide for the powder products inside – pretty genius for those (like me) who aren’t the most practiced when it comes to conturing.

Once inside the box, this is what you find. I love the sleek black and gold packaging – very similar to Chanel, these look super sleek in my everyday makeup organizer!

First up is the Contour/Highlight Powder duo. Out of everything in the kit, this is the most foreign. I certainly use highlighter, but I’ve never contoured at all!

Inside, the product is split 50/50 and there is a wonderfully large mirror, which makes touch-ups on the go super easy. The colours are perfect for me (MAC NW20) and they look beautiful sitting in the pan together too!

The contour colour is a warm light brown, designed to be used under the cheek bones. To use it, I swirled around a powder brush, suck in my cheeks and lightly brush in the hollow. Result? I looked like I had had a great nights sleep and hadn’t seen carbs or salt in a while – such a result! The colour is subtle enough to look natural, and there was no scary line where I had applied.

The other side is the Highlighter. Thankfully, this isn’t some glitter bomb, instead, a fluffy brush swirled over this, then on the apples of my cheeks makes me look alert and healthy. This gives a subtle gleam rather than turning shiny or metallic. When I’m having a natural looking day, I also like to apply the highlighter on my brow bones and on my lids too.

I just adore the rosy pink blush which comes with the kit. I apply it between the contour powder and the highlighter. A quick swirl with my kabuki brush leaves a healthy flush which is not unlike a quick walk in the cold. It’s perky enough to make you look awake, without heading into clown territory (one of my most major fears). I do wish the compact had mirror for on-the-go touch ups, although this really is a teeny-tiny niggle.

The lipstick is perfect for an amplified nude-look. It’s a rosy brown (rosier than it photographs) and it applies wonderfully smoothly.

The formula applies quite sheer, so your lips are left with a gorgeous colour and a satin finish.

The colour wears for a good 2-3 hours, and it feels wonderfully velvety soft and moisturizing.

Last, but certainly not least is the wondrous eye liner. A super-fine, felt tip like pen, this is just the thing for creating an immaculate eye liner. The point is super, super fine which means you can use it for subtle, day eyes, and its easy enough to build up if you fancy something a little bit more dramatic.

The pigment is amazing. It’s very, very black, and thankfully it does fade out or do that weird watery thing some pen liners do. Instead, when I draw on my liner, I get a perfect black line which stays put all day. The colour doesn’t fade, and it comes off easily using my go-to Clinique Take the Day Off.

The kit costs $29 and is available here.
