The whole idea behind Clarins’ Spring 2014 collection is making you look as dewey and healthy as possible. That’s where their new Complexion Base comes in.
Available in 3 shades (01 Rose, 02 Champagne and 03 Peach) which give you a pink, neutral or golden tone respectively. I plumped for 02 Champagne as my skin tone always benefits from a little blending without getting too warm or too pink.
Packaged in a tidy pump-top tube, I love how clean and hygienic it is, and it really helps with stopping too much product waste. I use about a pump and a half to cover my face and neck, and I apply after my moisturizer. The formula is super sheer, and it can be used as a base or as a tinted moisturizer replacement depending on your needs. I’ve been using it rather than a foundation and I’m completely in love. It blurs pores to invisibility, and although it doesn’t cover blemishes, it works well as a base for concealer. Unlike the other two shades Champagne doesn’t have any glitter or shimmer particles, so this is perfect for day wear. Clarins have been awfully clever and included anti-pollution technology in the formula, so it stops the premature aging caused by fumes and gases normally found in cities, so when you’re out and about this has your skin completely covered!
The Base will be £26 when it launches next month.
