So tomorrow sees the launch of Urban Decay’s new take on their Naked idea – with their Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder.

The powder comes in 5 colors (from light to dark) which means no one is left out due to skin tone (always a plus). I got sent Light and Medium for review.

Before we get to formula discussions, I thought I would mention the packaging. I love the chunky, screw top jar. It looks good in my stash, and the tub is lightweight enough to not be an inconvenience to pop into a travel case if needed. Once you unscrew the top, the powder comes out of a couple little holes in the Urban Decay logo (cute touch!) when you shake the pot.

Light is perfect for my NW20 skintone. It has the most beautiful texture – it’s jet milled so it’s super-fine and it completely melts into skin without looking cakey or powdery.

As you can see, Medium is quite a bit darker, and it is perfect for people looking for a little warmth in their skintone. Both powders have tiny shimmer particles throughout which means you get a luminous glow rather than looking like a glitter ball!

I popped the two together so you can see the shade difference between them – there is a Medium Light which is between the two.

I’ve become a bit obsessed with the powder – a light dusting over my makeup sets it for the day, and it gives a soft-focus, almost airbrushed finish.

The powder launches tomorrow, and it will cost £22. US readers can find them here
