One of the first expensive candles I ever bought was Jo Malone – it was the Gardenia one (they discontinued it, sob), and I got it for my first apartment when I was at uni. We weren’t technically allowed candles due to the lease, but it just sat on my fireplace, making my room smell divine! Fast forward a couple of years, and now Jo Malone has released a series of limited-edition candles which are inspired by Sunday Mornings.
I have Sweet Almond and Macaroon, which is just the most delicious scent. It sits somewhere between almond with hints of coconut and vanilla which become stronger as the candle burns.
The scent is beautifully rich and comforting, and the scent throw is incredible. Within about 10 minutes of lighting the candle, my whole bedroom smelt like the inside of Laduree, and within half an hour the whole upstairs smelt perfectly edible.
Like all of Jo Malone’s candles, it is presented beautifully. Inside the presentation box, there is the candle, complete with engraved silver snuffer-lid, and Jo Malone matches.
The candle is just the most delectable treat, and I’ve been lighting this at night and enjoying the scent as I read and do a little studying – it is just so comforting and pretty!
The candle is priced at £39 and is available here.
