Wantable Beauty Box*

I’ve never really gotten into beauty boxes before, so when the opportunity to try out a US Wantable box came along, I jumped at the chance.

Unlike other box subscriptions, Wantable is less of a ‘lucky dip’ but is a very personalized service. First off you choose from three categories: beauty, accessories or intimates, and once you’ve selected the type of box you want, there are a series of questions where you can decide if you like, love or hate a choice. For me, this meant asking whether I liked lipsticks over lipglosses, if I liked bright or neutral makeup and whether I preferred items such as blush over bronzer. It took about five minutes to complete, but I liked the fact the box felt tailored to my preferences. It was shipped from the US, and arrived a little over a week later. When I opened the box I was happy with the range of products, and excited to give them all a go!

First up is FACE Stockholm with a pretty periwinkle blue polish which is unique to Wantable. I’ve bought polishes by the brand from J.Crew before – they always have super cute colors. Although the blue isn’t a colour I would necessarily choose from a store, I think it’s a pretty choice for Spring.

FACE polishes aren’t the longest wearing polishes in the world – I can usually get 2-3 days with the right base and top coat before chipping starts. Two coats of the polish made everything perfectly opaque, and I think the colour is just so pretty and fresh!

Next up is a Sorme blush. I’ve never tried the brand before, but the colour is a lovely pinky-peach which has a little shimmer running through it.

It’s a great natural-looking choice when I’m going out during the day. It gives just the right amount of flush, and it really brightens my complexion.

Another brand I had never of was Girlactik who supplied a grey eyeliner. I love the twist-up action for this – it’s super easy to use and it’s nice and tidy, meaning I don’t have to go look out a sharpener everytime I want to use it.

The formula of the pencil is super soft, and unfortunately, right after I took this photo the tip snapped off, wasting some product. The formula of the remaining is creamy and long-lasting. I don’t really wear grey eyeliner that often, so it’s a nice change!

I love the fact that tools are included in the box – I can always use extra brushes, and this telescopic one from Mistura is super useful. The hairs are synthetic, but are super soft, and give an even coating of product when used. I love using this brush with loose powder formulas, as it doesn’t pick up too much for an application, and it just leaves a light dusting of product.

Rounding out the box was a 29 Cosmetics Dew Lipgloss. The box for this is so pretty, and the formula for the lipgloss has grape seed which moisturizes lips, and keeps them looking tip-top!

For such a big container, I’m not sure you get that much gloss, which is a shame, since it glides on easily and doesn’t feel sticky or goopy. The gold applies sheer on the lips and it is pretty and sparkly – I like this for casual evening looks, which just need a little glamour!

Wantable has really converted me to subscription boxes! I love the choice and the personalization that the company offers. You can get your boxes here, and they cost $36 if you subscribe and $40 for a single box.
