I’m so glad that Clarins have brought out new Lip Balm Crayons this month as part of their summer collection. When it’s hot and sticky out, the last thing I want to reach for is a gloopy lipgloss or a semi-melted lipstick. Instead, Clarins’ Crayons are a genius mixture of a lipbalm-like formula with the sheen of a gloss and the colour of a lipstick. The chunky packaging means they’re easy to reach for my handbags, and you just twist them up to get more formula.
The range covers everything from a personalized pink (01 My Pink reviewed here) to a rich chocolatey brown. 04 Sweet Cherry, is perfect if you regularly rock a red lip. The crayon gives lips a wash of pinky-red with the perfect amount of shine. Since these are balm crayons, they don’t dry out lips like pigmented lipsticks do, and they are so easy for reapplications. When I’ve been out and about, I’ve also used 04 Sweet Cherry as a quick blush substitute, as it gives the most gorgeous hint of colour!
02 Creamy Pink is a go-to staple for easy everyday looks. This gives a sheer wash of colour, and it’s a great way to add a little polish to my usual routine. Even though the colour is quite natural, I can build it up easily, meaning it’s perfect if I want to inject a little colour too!
Last up is 06 Soft Coffee, which is a stunning warm-toned brown. I can only imagine that this will be a holy grail natural for dark skinned girls, and for me it’s allowing me to put a toe into the 90’s brown lipstick trend. The colour looks so pretty with a swipe of bronzer and a little coral blush!
The crayons cost £18.00 and are available here (UK) and here (US)
