Where I live, manis and pedis are horrifically expensive – last time I got one done it was over £50 and I ended up with an infected finger – not a good look! Because of this, I’m always on the lookout for ways to keep my hands looking presentable without breaking the bank! Add in the fact that my nails chip ridiculously easy, I’m a prime candidate for gel manicures.
Fuse’s Gelnamels are a clever mix of the shine and durability of gel polishes without any of the damage. The added convenience of being able to do this at home is amazing, and I love the range of colours to choose from. When mine arrived with the shade ‘Vamp,’ I was over the moon! It’s a great dupe for Chanel’s Rouge Noir (one of my holy grail polishes) and the fact I don’t have to worry about chipping is amazing!
Unlike regular polishes, you don’t have to worry about top or base coats, so after clipping my cuticles and shaping my nails, I used a slick of the cleanser, then painted on some of the gelnamel. Fuse recommend that you deal with each nail individually, and the blue light only fits in one finger at a time. In theory, you should only need to use a single coat, but on a few fingers I did add a second coat just to even out the colour.
I’m really rather impressed with the whole system. It’s a great, affordable way to keep your nails in check, and I think that Vamp is just the chicest colour! I’ve been wearing mine for three days, and haven’t had a chip, and it’s still as pretty and shiny as it was when it was fresh!
You can choose from 12 colours, and the next time I’m in Boots, I think I will be stocking up! The kit costs £35.00 and it’s available here.
