One of my very first beauty discoveries, way back when I was about 5 or 6 was tea tree oil. My mother used to keep a bottle of it stashed away in her cupboard to use on everything blemish to post-wax treatments. I didn’t need it, and I don’t really think I understood what it was for, I just loved the smell. It was so clean, and fresh and summery, I used to splash it on and proudly say I was wearing my own perfume. I’ve loved pretty mush ever since, although I haven’t had any around for a few years, and I’m not quite sure why. When Lush’s black bottle plopped through the door, I was ridiculously excited, and could hardly wait to rinse my makeup off. After my cleansing ritual came to an end, I simply spritzed a little of the water on my face. It smells heavenly – the tea tree is so light and lovely smelling, and it feels wonderfully cooling and refreshing on the skin. Since tea tree is a natural antibacterial, antimicrobal and anti fungus (glamorous I know) it’s perfect if you’re suffering from bacteria-induced acne, and this gentle water will literally kill off the nasties living on your face. Grapefruit in the formula is a slight astringent and works to refresh the skin, as does the juniper in the mix. In short, it’s a clever little black bottle which I just adore!
Tea Tree Water is priced at £7.50 and is available here.
