Jane Iredale is a brand which is really gaining traction in the UK. It was founded 20 years ago by Jane herself as she was inspired to develop makeup which was good for skin as well as looking pretty. Well, she has certainly succeeded in her new Fall City Lights collection.
The eyeshadow palette is a gorgeous trio of bone ivory (Mist), warm copper (Toast), and deep berry (Port) shadows all tucked into a rather fetching rose gold palette. Although the compact is small enough to slip into a makeup bag, all three shadows are a grew size, and the large mirror in the lid is perfect for on the go touch ups.
For an easy day look, I’ve been covering my lids in Mist as a base, then applying a light layer of Toast. In my crease I apply a little of the Port shadow to warm everything up. Despite copper and plummy shadows sounding very dramatic, the creamy formulas are a dream to work with and the look is more ‘polished’ than ‘evening’.
For evening, the colours are easy to intensify – I dip my liner brush in a little water before sweeping a thin line of Port above my eyelashes. It gives a great amount of definition without feeling too predictable! The wear-time of the shadows is dreamy too – without a primer I easily get 8+ hours of wear before I feel I need to touch up, and the mineral formulas mean they don’t clump or crease, instead you just get to enjoy the prettiest shadows!
The palette costs £35
