Essie Summit of Style*

I cannot believe that we’re in December already! This year seems to have just flown by, and although I don’t think I’m quite ready for 2015 to kick off, I’m seriously embracing festive nails. As part of their Lux Effects collection, Essie have released two new glitters: Summit of Style and Rock at the Top (you can see the other one here).

Summit of Style is a stunning rose gold/copper glitter and it’s a great option for wearing alone or over your favourite polishes. For my swatches I used three pretty thick coats to get an opaque coverage, and the formula is incredibly easy to work with. Since the glitter particles are suspended within a clear glossy varnish, Summit of Style is super versatile, and I’ve been reaching for it pretty regularly to give my mani a little extra magic.

As if the polish wasn’t pretty enough on its own, it looks completely magical layered over darker polishes. Here it’s topping Essie’s Liquorice, a great inky black. I love wearing the polish with my rose gold jewellery – it just feels a little more polished and different. It’s also a lifesaver, if, like me, you chip your nails easily. If I’ve been a little klutzier than normal, I simply pop a layer of Summit of Style over the top, and voila – perfect nails again!
