Stila is one of those brands I turn to when I want something that just can’t go wrong. The lip glosses are always perfectly shiny with the most beautiful colours, and the lip and cheek tints are something of a stash staple. So, when I needed to update my mascara collection, I couldn’t wait to give the brand’s new Mile High Lashes a whirl!
The mascara is part of Stila’s 20th anniversary collection, and I just adore the gold and silver packaging – it just looks so glamorous in my makeup bag (although I’m always polishing it up for fingerprints). The tapered tube is so elegant, and inside, the wand has a new design which promises to lengthen, give volume, curl and lift lashes.
When I saw the wand had a rubber head, I was a little nervous. I’ve had run-in’s with Benefit’s ‘They’re Real’ which have left me a teary black mess thanks to the hard bristles which poke me in the eye. Thankfully Stila’s offering is far more gentle. The tapered ‘v’ shape means that even hard to reach lashes are coated with a slick of the inky black mascara, and I only need a swipe or two for a perfect covering. The mascara really does lift and lengthen my eyelashes, and since the formula is quite viscous, I only need a little for my eyes to look done. Even during the most hectic of days, the mascara stays put, without a touch of flaking or smudging – if anything it’s actually pretty hard to remove without my trusty Clinique Take the Day Off!
The mascara is priced at £16.00 and is available here.
