I seriously can’t believe it’s New Year’s Eve already! 2013 has certainly shot past, and I cannot wait to get fully stuck into 2015! Until then, I’m happy to be surrounded by my favourite people and enjoy the evening. To celebrate the time of year, I’m going to be wearing my newest acquisition – Dior’s Diorshow Mono eyeshadow in 616 Sequins.

Packaged in a rather slick navy compact, complete with velvet pouch, and when I saw the shadow in Selfridges, I just had to have it. Seriously, I don’t think any makeup could be more appropriate for New Year’s!

Isn’t it gorgeous?!?! 616 Sequins is the most beautiful golden champagne glitter, it feels incredibly festive without overwhelming my face with sparkles.

The shadow is designed to be used both wet or dry depending on how much of an impact you want to make. Personally, I think it looks so pretty with a super natural base. After applying my regular makeup (with a little extra highlighter for some ‘glow’) I use a little brown shadow for definition around my eyes, then layer up with some Sequins on my lid and inner eyes. If you fancy something a little simpler and minimal, it also looks incredible used as a liner on bare lids. After a touch of primer and concealer, I used a wet liner brush with the shadow and trailed a thin line over my eyelid and followed with a couple of coats of super black mascara. The result was a super pretty, low-key way to enjoy the glitter.

The effect is super subtle, but I’m more than a little obsessed with it! As you would expect from Dior, the shadow is incredibly finely milled, and the application is just seamless. Although two little foam applicators are included with the shadow, they’re pretty much useless, so I just use my fingers to press the shadow on. Unusually for a product this sparkly, Sequins is incredibly easy to apply, and there is very little fallout. When I tried the shadow I used my Laura Mercier eye primer, and the glitter lasted throughout the evening!

The shadow costs £23.00 and I got mine at Selfridges

So, that’s it for 2014! Thank you so, so much for visiting, and I can’t wait to see what 2015 has in store! Have a wonderful evening! xxx
