So, as I’m sure you’re aware, Saturday is Valentines Day, which is a rather super excuse for treating yourself to something fabulous. Perfume is always a good bet, so if you’re after something new and a little different, you just have to try Creed’s Asian Green Tea.
Incase you’ve never heard of Creed, the house dates back to London in 1760, and they have made colognes for the English, French, Russian and Monaco Royal Families. Rather than flashy, or trend-led fragrances, Creed’s colognes are beautifully subtle affairs which feel both incredibly luxurious and easy to wear.
Asian Green Tea is one of the house’s newest fragrances as it was released last year. It’s described as an ‘exquisite sketch of the arcane cultures of the Far East’ and it is the perfect Spring fragrance. When first applied, there is a soft greenness from the Bergamot and Lemon which feel shower-fresh. As the perfume heats up, the notes of Green Tea and Violet make the cologne feel more complex than a lot ‘fresh’ fragrances I’ve worn before. It sounds odd to say, but Asian Green Tea feels cooling to use – I think it’s the freshness of the citrus notes which are anchored with the almost fruity notes of Blackcurrant. Within a couple of hours, the citrus elements give way to the warm base which contains Sandalwood, Musk and Amber. Even though these scents can sometimes feel overpowering, with Asian Green Tea, they are incredibly subtle, and very sexy.
I also think that the gloriously chic packaging has to be appreciated! The bottle comes nestled in an embossed white box, complete with a history of Creed. I love how proud the house is of it’s heritage, and it really cements the idea that the fragrances are something very special. The perfume itself is begging to be displayed on my dressing table. I completely adore the rather imperial looking bottle, complete with engraved name plate and lid.
Creed’s Asian Green Tea costs £165 and is available here.
What a great post! I can’t wait to give this a try!
