Chanel Lumière d’Été Bronzing Powder – Summer 2015

Chanel Lumière d'Été Bronzing Powder - Summer 2015

Ok, confession alert, Chanel’s brand new Lumière d’Été Bronzing Powder is my definition of an impulse purchase. I went into Debenhams three days in a row looking for Guerlain’s newest Natural Blonde bronzer, and it was just not meant to be. They had every shade except the one I was lusting after, and since I had the urge to grab a new bronzer, I couldn’t help myself from wandering over to the Chanel counter.

I hadn’t actually seen or heard any buzz about Chanel’s new Summer 2015 collection, but the since it had just been popped up onto the counter, I couldn’t resist taking a peek! The colours were gorgeous – think an almost neon red nail varnish, a stunning cool toned purple varnish, and a selection of glossy Rouge Coco Shines.

The star of the show though, in my opinion is the Lumière d’Été Bronzing Powder. It’s described as an illuminating powder, and it’s really something special! I just adore the little velvet pouch and real hair brush which the compact comes tucked up with!

The powder itself comes pressed into the shape of Chanel’s iconic camellia flower, and the detail on the powder is really beautiful. Each petal is crosshatched for texture, and it almost seems too pretty to use! Thankfully though, the formula is worth disrupting the pattern for!

Chanel’s Lumière d’Été Bronzing Powder is quite a warm toned powder, so, if like me, you’re quite pale, a light touch is definitely all you need. After applying my base, concealer and a little blush, I sweep the powder over my forehead, nose, cheekbones and chin for a believable wash of colour.

Since the powder has illuminating qualities, it gives skin a sort of ‘back from the beach’ glow. It’s hard to explain, it’s not sparkly or shiny, but instead it definitely falls into a healthy sheen category. It’s such a gorgeous compact, I think I would have bought it if it was blue!

Chanel’s Lumière d’Été Bronzing Powder is priced at £46.00 and is available here (UK) and here (US)

It just looks so pretty ♥ Haven’t read much about it yet, but I am sure that will change soon enough given you clearly love it.
