As a rule I like to keep my makeup as simple as possible. Adding a lick of eyeliner and shadow is as complicated as I get most days, but when I’m going out somewhere special I like to turn it up a little bit. One of the best ways to do this, I’ve found, is to add a false lash.
Partial false lashes, like these awesome Instalash ones from Urban Decay are a perfect way to add a little oomph to my everyday makeup look. Since they are shorter than regular lashes, they are also easier to use than their full counterparts. To use, I apply a swipe of black liner to my upper lash line, and apply a light layer of mascara, then, using tweezers, I dip the adhesive strip of the lashes into the glue and give it a couple of seconds for it to get a little tacky feeling. Then, whilst looking down into a mirror, I position the lashes and hold them there for a few seconds.
Instalush lashes are perfect for giving a natural-looking cat eye look. The cross hatched lashes look lush, yet surprisingly natural, and I love the fact that Urban Decay include a little vial of lash glue so I don’t have to hunt high and low for my regular choice. I love Urban Decay’s attention to detail with the lashes too – the lash band is black, so I don’t need to try and hide it with eyeliner once they’re on, so it makes the process so much quicker and easier. Wearing Instalush was so easy too – the lashes feel completely natural when they’re on, and I didn’t experience any sort of issues when I had them on. Instead I just had lush, glamorous looking lashes, with little effort on my part – perfect!
A set of two pairs of Instalush Lashes cost £12.00 and are available here (UK) and here (US)
No if I could only apply them…! LOL!
