When I think of Urban Decay, more often than not, I’m reaching for one of their rather iconic eyeshadow palettes. For the past couple of years, I don’t think that there has been a week where I haven’t reached for at least one of their palettes. That’s why I’m surprised that I’ve taken this long to try out one of their fabled Eyeshadow Primer Potions, which promise to last for unto 24 hours without creasing or caking – no wonder it’s one of Urban Decay’s best selling products!
I opted for Sin, which is a gorgeously creamy rose gold which comes packaged in an easy to use squeeze that Aladdin would be proud to call his own! Since I only use a primer about 50% of the time, Sin is a gorgeous option for me, as if I want a natural, slightly shimmery eye, I only need to dot a little of the primer on to give a beautifully subtle hint of warmth and colour. To use under shadows, I only need the tiniest drop, and the formula is super thick, and a little goes a long, long way! After applying my foundation/base, I simply tap it on using my ring finger all over my lid. It has a super rich consistency, so I’m careful to go rather slowly. I then go ahead and apply my shadow as normal. Sin does have quite a heavy dose of sheen, so it’s perfect if I want to jazz up my regular (and sometimes a little dull) matte shadows, or, if I’m feeling flashy, it creates a gloriously slick wet-look eye which is deceivingly easy to pull off!
I’ve not been able to test out the 24 hour claims of the primer as I’m a staunch nightly makeup remover, but even after long, hot summer days, Sin has kept my eye makeup looking freshly applied and beautifully shimmery!
