When I saw that Lancome had released a new cushion-style foundation, I had to get my grubby paws on it. I’m a sucker for anything new and fancy, so when they promised ‘endless perfection in seconds’ I was sold!
When you’re buying the Miracle Cushion Foundation you have two options – buy the full package which consists of foundation and outer case, or you can just buy the infill. Since this was my first purchase I opted for the full shebang, but honestly, I would recommend just grabbing the infill. You’re only paying for a mirrored plastic compact with interior mirror, and it’s not the most luxurious feeling of packaging, so I would just save the £10 difference.
Once you get inside the compact, you can see the inner chamber contains a foundation saturated sponge, and to you, you just press your sponge into it, and apply. The formula of the foundation feels incredibly light on the skin, and it has a beautiful satin-sheer finish. Since I tend to go for as natural looking coverage as possible, I loved how the foundation completely disappeared into skin, and it never feels cakey or drying.
I opted for the lightest shade – 01, and it’s a great match for my NW20 skin tone. There are 6 shades to choose from, so people with super light or dark shades may struggle to find an exact match. As much as I do love this foundation, I can’t get over with how fast it ran out – foundations and tinted moisturisers usually last me 3-4 months of daily use. I don’t use an awful lot, but with Lancome’s Miracle Cushion Foundation I ran out after about a month. Due to the sponge method of holding the foundation, it’s also a bit inconvenient to find out when you’re running low.
Lancome Miracle Cushion Foundation is priced at £29.50 for the full compact UK here and US here. The infill costs £19.50 and is available here (UK) and here (US)
