On any given day, I’m probably wearing two to three eyeshadows, and odds are they’re a selection of smoky taupes, with maybe a hint of glimmer if I’m feeling adventurous. Even when I’m heading somewhere like the gym, I have a slick of powder on for some casual eye definition.
On days where I’m after an easy eyeshadow look, I have been loving Clarins’ Ombre Matte Cream Eyeshadow in 08 Heather. The colour is a new release as part of Clarins’ Autumn 2015 collection, and it’s a stunning cool toned taupe which has the most beautiful, subtle lavender undertones.
It’s basically the prettiest, easiest smoky eye in a jar that you can imagine. To use, I simply blend the Ombre Matte Cream Shadow over my lid, blending out the the crease, I then add a little definition around my lash line with 07 Carbon (review here). The texture of the eyeshadows are absolutely dreamy – they start out as a cream, meaning that it’s incredibly easy to apply, and build colour exactly where you want it. The formula is silky soft, and doesn’t budge or crease, even without a primer, so it’s perfect if you’re after a shade which is as pretty as it’s hard wearing.
