Enjoying Halloween last night meant that I had the perfect excuse to enjoy one of my newest lipsticks – Sisley’s Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick in shade L30. As well as laying claim to one of the longest names I’ve come across, the lipstick is also one of the most luxurious!
Packaged in a golden case, the entire Long Lasting Lipstick is basically a study in opulence. Coming tucked inside a black velvet pouch, when you uncap the lipstick you get to see the lipstick bullet, which is a stunning, almost twisted looking design.
As well as looking incredibly slick, the shape of the bullet allows for super-precise application of the lipstick – even with the most pigmented of shades. It really is a life saver if you like to reapply your lips when you’re out and about! My shade, L30 Mandarine, is a real departure for me – rather than my typical pinky-nude shades, L30 is a stunning orange-toned coral which looks as pretty to wear now during the hight of autumn as it will with a tan in summer.
Before applying the Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick, I prepped my lips by exfoliating them, and topping them off with a coat of Sisley’s Nutritive Lip Balm. Then I simply apply colour, straight from the bullet. The formula of the lipstick is absolute perfection – an incredibly creamy texture which coats the lips with an opaque wash of colour.
With a subtle, slightly powdery scent, Sisley’s Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick feels like possibly the most grown-up lipstick I own! Wear time is absolutely amazing – I can easily go for up to six hours before I need to freshen up the colour. For such a pigmented lipstick, it feels wonderfully light and nourishing to wear thanks to Sisley’s inclusion of calendula and vitamins c and e.
Sisley Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick is priced at £34.00 and is available here (UK) and here (US)
