Ok, so it’s no secret that I’m on a serious lip product binge at the moment. I’m not quite sure if it’s the change in season, the sun that’s finally peaking out, or just a weird phase I’m going through at the moment, but I just can’t get enough of lipstick. I’m not going to complain though, as it’s let me find some absolute gems. Case in point, Too Faced’s brand new, seriously pretty and pigmented La Creme Lipsticks.
Like everything from the brand, the packaging is on point. It’s gorgeous! From the pink boxes which look like they were plucked out of some chinoiserie dream to the golden bullets, the La Creme lipsticks are not designed to be forgotten about!
The range comprises of a rather impressive 22 shades, and I was kindly sent three to try out. They’re a great indicator of the shade range that’s available (and who doesn’t like a nude, pink and red to try?) and there has been at least one of these little gems kicking about in my makeup bag ever since they arrived!
Topless is the shade that, probably unsurprisingly, I reach for the most. I can’t help it – I’m something of a nude lip aficionado, and this is just so pretty. Described as an apricot nude, this is one of those colours that’s going to suit everyone! On the lips, Topless gives a your-lips-but-better hit of natural colour, and I am obsessed with the nourishing super creamy formula. Rather than being a pink based nude like a majority of my lipsticks, Topless leans more to the light brown, meaning it feels lovely and current to wear.
Clueless is one of those get-onto-my-face-right-this-second shades which makes me feel like I’m about 12 again. It’s the prettiest blue-based shimmery pink which makes teeth look super-white and makes me feel somewhat Barbie-esque in the best possible way! The formula of Clueless feels super rich and balmy, and I can apply straight from the tube. I got three hours of glossy colour before I felt the need to top up, and even then, when it fades down, the Lip Creme leaves lips with a pretty stain.
9021Ohhh is the lipstick with possibly my favourite ever name, and thankfully it’s a gorgeous colour to match! Described by Too Faced as Candy Apple Red, 9012Ohhh is your perfect, must have, searched for red. It doesn’t lean too pink or orange, so most skin tones should be able to enjoy the colour, and I’m so glad, because it is stunning! Like the other shades in the collection, the formula of the Lip Creme is an absolute dream to use – it feels rich and creamy to wear, and never dries out. The finish has the perfect amount of satin shine, and it wears for around three to four hours before I felt the need to freshen it up. Crucially for a red, it’s easy to control, and once it’s on, it’s on! There was no smudging or smearing, just a perfect red which is going to look so pretty with clear bronzed skin and neutral eye makeup!
