When it comes to eye palettes, I feel like Urban Decay is pretty hard to beat. I use the NAKED palettes at least a couple of times a week, and I’ve loved them for years. The shadows are beautiful, both in shades and consistencies, so I’m always excited to try new additions to the line up!
Before I even cracked open the palette, I was absolutely smitten. A sleek black case complete with rainbow jewelled logo, it’s an absolutely stunning piece. The rainbow isn’t just for looks though – it paves the way for, what has to be, my most colourful palette!
There isn’t a neutral in the piece, and I absolutely love Urban Decay for it! It’s a brave move for a brand that really hit the mainstream thanks to their taupes and browns, and it’s exactly what I needed to see at this time of year. If you’re even thinking of adding a little colour into your makeup, this is the palette to grab!
I’m still working my way through the shadows, but I’ve swatched them all, and the colour payoff is incredible! With buttery textures, and a mix of matte and shimmer finishes, there is a nice mix of new colours and rereleases. The bright green, Hatter, for example was first included in the Alice in Wonderland palette from earlier this year. I’ve been enjoying subtle touches of colour in everyday looks. Faded, a shimmery grape shade is gorgeous smudged into my lash line for an update on the classic smoky eye.
I’m also loving Mix, a deep almost navy to mix up my look for night. It wouldn’t be an Urban Decay palette, without a decent brush to add to the collection. Double ended, one side has long, fluffy brushes which is perfect for applying a base shade.
The other end has shorter, denser bristles which pack pigment onto the lid. I love this for applying the most vivid shades.
