Burberry Beauty – COMPLETE EYE PALETTE – SMOKEY BROWN NO.00*

I’ve been absolutely bowled over by Burberry Beauty recently. Everything seems to get better and better, and I’m glad to say, the Complete Eye Palette in Smokey Brown No.00 is an absolute stunner! Packaged in the brand’s signature checks, this has to be one of the most beautiful compacts available.

Unlike most compacts which give up valuable shadow-space for a couple of foam tipped applicators, which I inevitably bin pretty much immediately, Burberry tucked three tiny little applicators into the velvet pouch. There’s a rather nifty little liner brush which is perfect for achieving a bit of smudged definition whilst on the go. There’s a cute little bristle brush for sweeping colour over the lid too! There’s a foam-tipped applicator in there, but since it doesn’t take the place of an eyeshadow – I’ll let it go!

The compact itself is absolute perfection – two cool-toned taupes, a warm brown and a chocolate shade are all nestled together. It’s absolutely stunning to look at – the shadows are all embossed with the Burberry check, and it’s almost too pretty to use.

I say almost, because, honestly, look at those colours. There was not way that I could stop myself from playing around with them. I’d heard a lot about Burberry’s eyeshadows, but I was still absolutely blown away by their smooth, buttery texture. Honestly swiping these on the back of my hand, I half thought they were cream formulas. Super richly pigmented with an insane level of colour payoff, these really do live up to the hype.

The shades do work wonderfully when blended together, but they’re equally wonderful used alone for a pretty, minimalistic look. On a daily basis, I smudged the slightly coppery tone across my lids, and define with a quick slick of the chocolate shade. If I’m after something a bit fancier, I cover the lid in the cool taupe, highlight with the neutral, adding a little of it to my lid and the inner corners, then cut my crease with my copper. Then I define using the chocolate and add lashings of Burberry’s Cat Lashes mascara (review here). The shadows all have a beautiful, subtle sheen that’s seriously flattering, and they last all day too!

Burberry Complete Eye Palette is priced at £40 and is available here (UK) and here (US)
