Vincent Bell is one of those salons I pass on an almost daily basis, always meaning to pop in for a blow dry. Located pretty much exactly where Stockbridge meets Edinburgh New Town, it’s a seriously handy little spot which is perfect for getting a bit of TLC without having to navigate around Edinburgh.
So, I absolutely jumped at the chance when they invited me to come in and get a Kerastase treatment and a blow dry. It’s not secret that I’m desperately trying to get my hair back to normal after a few ill-advised bleaching treatments, so the chance to let the professionals get to work on my strands was too good to miss!
The salon itself is beautiful – all beige walls and oversized mirrors which make the whole process feel absolutely dreamy. All the staff are super lovely too – and they’ll make sure you’re never without a magazine or cup of tea throughout the whole experience. I popped in last Saturday – and it was the absolutely perfect way to escape a slightly snowy Edinbugh afternoon!
After discussing what I was after with my blow out (straight and shiny please) we then got to discussing my hair needs. My ends are in much better condition than they have been recently, but were still the wrong side of fragile. So, I got a mix of the two strongest treatments mixed together to really give my hair a bit of oomph. I was then led upstairs to get a shampoo, treatment, and the most heavenly of head massages imaginable.
Then, it was back downstairs for the blow dry. My stylist got to grips with my hair, and within a few minutes it was soft, smooth and feeling silky, but still with the perfect amount of volume. The effects of the treatment last for around 5 washes, and I’ve really noticed the difference since popping in. My hair, which can feel a bit dry and lacklustre due to my continual heat styling, was so much smoother and bouncier -I’m already planning a return trip!
A wash, blow dry and treatment starts from around £50 and you can see Vincent Bell’s price list here
