When YSL first released their Touche Eclat foundation a few years back, I absolutely raced out to get a bottle. I think there’s been a bottle of it kicking about in my stash ever since! I was a huge fan of the original formula, it’s a real favourite on days where I want to look ‘done’ without looking too make-up-y, so when I heard YSL were reworking the formula, I was a little worried.
The packaging is pretty much identical to before – a sleek glass tube with a pump dispenser. Two pumps is more than enough for a flawless application – and I love using a Beauty Blender to apply. I would say the new formula is slightly denser than before – it’s described as full coverage, and even though it’s more opaque it still looks incredible natural and lightweight on the skin. The formula is infused with the light-reflecting magic of the original Touche Eclat, so it’s perfect for use when your skin is less than perfect! Since it’s a full coverage finish, I also love it for evenings out when I know there are going to be lots of photos!
YSL were also kind enough to send over a sample of their Touche Eclat Blur Primer. I’m so glad they did, because I’ve been debating whether to buy the full sized version, and I have to say, it’s on my to-buy list!
The Touche Eclate Blur Primer is all about creating the most flawless of bases. Smoothed onto moisturised skin, it goes on effortlessly feeling a touch silicon-y, but honestly, I quite like that in a primer. It blurs any imperfections or fine lines, and the little flecks of gold give skin a believable does of glow. It also adds some serious staying power to your makeup! On days where I’ve applied a light layer, I don’t need to touch up well into the evening. The Touche Eclat Primer just gives my makeup a flawlessness that lasts all day!
YSL Touche Eclat Le Teint Foundation is priced at £33.50 and is available here (UK) and here (US)
