Up until a few years ago, I admit that I thought facial spritzes were a bit of an extravagance. I always kept a can of Evian in the fridge, so I didn’t really get what extras a facial mist could bring. Then I moved abroad and developed a love of dewy-finish makeup, and the rest, as they say is history.
My newest addition to my mist collection (seriously, it’s a thing) is the brand new Algenist Splash, a hydrating mist which smells incredible and sets makeup like a dream. It also packs a whole punch of skincare benefits thanks to the formula’s inclusion of mineral-enriched sea water, algalyte complex and alguronic acid. Packaged in a sleek blue bottle, complete with handy guide down the side to let you know how much you have left, the mist has become a bit of a favourite thanks to both it’s fresh scent and hydrating properties.
I tend to use the mist a couple of times a day, and I absolutely love it! In the mornings, after cleansing in the shower, I tend to use a light spray of the mist prior to applying my moisturiser to soothe and calm my skin pre-makeup. Then, once I’ve got my makeup on and I’m happy with how it’s looking, I use a quick spritz just to set everything in place. The mist’s spray gives a wonderfully fine blast of product which is enough to feel refreshing, but not enough to disturb makeup. Then, after cleansing in the evening, I give myself a blast of the mist, again to calm and cool my skin prior to apply my evening oils.
It’s an absolutely gorgeous product, and I can’t wait to try out more of the range!
