Michael Kors Wonderlust*

I’m not going to lie – I love the run up to gift-giving holidays. Christmas, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day … you get the idea. It’s not because I particularly relish the days themselves, but I just enjoy the lead up, the new products which are released, and the buzz that surrounds them.

So, brand new for Spring, or perhaps Mother’s Day is the latest fragrance from Michael Kors. Wonderlust is described as ‘Captivating, Confident and Sexy.’ And let’s be real, who doesn’t want a piece of that?

Packaged in the most beautiful ombre peach bottle, which comes crowns with a golden cap, the perfume looks absolutely stunning. The weighty bottle feels super luxe, and the perfume itself feels very sleek, feminine and streamlined. I love it for day-to-day wear – it feels special without being too overwhelming.

When first applied, the perfume has an almost creamy freshness due to the top notes of Almond Milk, Bergamot and Pink Pepper. I only need a quick spritz of the fragrance as it’s quite strong. Then as the perfume warms up a little on my skin, the mid notes of Dianthus and Heliotrope become stronger, making the perfume feel more sensual. It’s also a fun new take on floral notes. Rather than relying on my traditional jasmine, tuberose or gardenia, it’s nice to change things up a little!

Then after a few hours of wear, the base notes really show through – Benzoin and Sandalwood create a real feeling of warmth and depth. They’re what give the perfume it’s sexiness and depthfullsizeoutput_da2

It’s an absolutely gorgeous scent, which feels different from the rest of my collection. Fresh with a gourmand edge, it’s a new direction for Michael Kors’ fragrances which seem to fall squarely in the fruity/floral category. This is a bit more grown up and elegant.

Michael Kors Wonderlust Perfume is priced from £42.50 (my bottle is 100ml) and is available here (UK) and here (US)
