Is there ever a better feeling than opening up a brand new lipstick? Probably not. A mixture of to–die-for colour and a silky formula has me pretty much weak at the knees. So when four of Laura Geller’s Iconic Baked Sculpting Lipsticks popped through the letterbox, you can imagine my reaction.
With regards to the brand, it’s probably best known for their highlighters – I’ve tried a handful of their Baked Gelato Swirls (reviews here, here and here) and been impressed, so getting to try out some of the brand’s other projects was a dream!
All named for New York locations, the lipsticks promise weightless, creamy colour, and great news – they deliver! I’m obsessed with Fifth Avenue Ruby – a bright, cherry red which is just aching to be worn with a tan!
The formulas of the lipsticks are baked for a minimum of twelve hours, and they contain a selection of moisturising ingredients including sunflower and almond oils, so they’re perfect for everyday use. Delancey Delilah is a perfect pink-toned neutral which has become a favourite your-lips-but-better shade for me.
These lipsticks are an absolute dream to wear – they are so rich and creamy to apply, and I love the fact that they’re opaque when applied straight from the tube. Brooklyn Beige is a stunning warm-toned nude which is perfect for balancing out a heavier eye look.
Bowery Ballerina is possibly the perfect nude shade! A Neutral pinky-toned nude, this has quickly become my everyday lipstick of choice. Slicked on from the tube, it gives a lick of colour which lasts for a good few hours per application, whilst never fading or feeling dried out.
Laura Geller ‘Iconic Baked Sculpting’ Lipsticks are priced at £16 each and are available here (UK) and here (US)
