When it comes to getting my nails done, I’ve been sticking mostly to either pinky-neutrals or inky darks. So, in an effort to push out of my comfort zone, I took to Leighton Denny to have a look at what’s new. Inspired by the upcoming Royal Wedding, the brand have released a handful of shades which are fit for a princess!

Queen Hera might just be the jazziest polish I’ve tried in years! A chic khaki, shot through with golden shimmer, it’s a perfect transitional shade if you’re not quite ready for summer brights, but still want something a little fun.

It took about three coats to build up to a fully opaque finish, and you can, in some lights, see brushstrokes, but I think it’s such a stunning choice. On the nails, it looks like an oil slick – it alternates between green, blue and gold and shimmers in the light. Topped off with the brand’s top coat, it has a high sheen, and looks so pretty on.

Paparazzi might just be the world’s most perfect cherry red shade! Opaque from the first coat, this is a true pink-toned cherry red, which feels perfect for Spring and summer.

The formula is creamy perfection, and it applies like an absolute dream. If, like me, cannot paint your own nails to save yourself, this is the polish for you. It was opaque and even from the first coat, so you could definitely get away with only a single coat. Topped with the Leighton Denny top coat, it’s shiny, cherry perfection, and will be my pedicure choice this summer for sure!

Leighton Denny nail polishes are priced at £11 each and you can find Queen Hera here and Paparazzi here
