When I was at school, I was pretty much known for my love to lip gloss. Tucked into my blazer top pocket, I used to keep at least three on rotation – one of which was always a Lancome Juicy Tube in Lychee, and yes, it’s still a favourite. Over the years, I’ve kept up with my favour for glosses, although on a daily basis, I’ve been tending to reach for a simple balm.
So, when I was ordering Glossier’s brand new Lash Slick mascara (review to come) I needed to add a few pounds to qualify for free shipping. I’d been crushing on the Glossier Lip Gloss for a while, so it felt like the perfect time to treat myself! Reviews online are pretty much split 50/50 between ‘best gloss ever’ and ‘why would you pay £11 for a clear gloss?’ but curiosity get the better of me.
As you would expect from Glossier, the packaging is completely on point. Simple and chic, this looks as good in my makeup bag as it does on my vanity table. And the gloss? It’s perfect. Applied directly from the doe foot applicator, it feels thick and a little gloopy on the lips. It’s not sticky, but it has a subtle sweet scent, which feels like a more gentle take on their Birthday Balm Dot Com (review here). On the lips, the gloss has that gorgeous 90’s glass finish, and thanks to the thick texture, it sticks around for at least an hour.
If you’re looking for the perfect gloss – Glossier has your back. Bonus? It’s only £11! You can find it here.
