Winter always makes my skin look and feel a little blah. I think it’s a mix of colder temperatures, central heating and lack of being outside, but despite it feeling inevitable, it doesn’t make it any more pleasant. In my quest to tackle winter-dullness, I’ve been testing out primers which give skin a good dose of glow without feeling too heavy, and I’ve fallen in love with Revlon’s Photoready Perfecting Primer.
Designed to soften skin, and diffuse light, the Photoready Perfecting Primer is basically an instagram filter in a bottle. It’s apt, as it’s part of Revlon’s Photoready line up which has been developed so you can always be selfie-ready.
The primer itself couldn’t feel lighter to wear – I smooth on a couple of pumps of it onto freshly moisturised skin, making sure I pay attention to any areas which need a little more help (eyelids, any dry skin etc). The formula is pretty much weightless, and leaves skin with a healthy glow, rather than looking greasy, and it makes skin feel silky soft. Then, I apply my makeup as normal. One days when I use the primer, I feel like I just look better overall. My makeup definitely sticks around longer, and I don’t need to touch up during the day. I also feel like I look a little more rested – very handy when you need to coverup a few late nights!
Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer is priced at £12.99 and is available here (UK) and here (US)
