When it comes to haircare, I am ridiculously picky. It’s become a bit of a joke that I can’t just wash my hair like a normal person, and no matter how much I’d love to be one of those girls who can stretch a blow out for three of four days, my hair has other ideas. It’s probably my own fault. I dye my hair blonde (a cardinal sin) and heat style it, this coupled with the fact it’s naturally wavy, means that it can get stressed pretty easily, resulting in ends which veer between frizzy and fried.
I deal with it in a number of ways. If I’m working at home, or just heading to the gym, I’ll throw it up in a ponytail, but if I’m heading out, I need to bring in the big guns, which is where Oscar Blandi comes in. Long-time readers will know that I’m an Oscar Blandi salon super-fan. It’s a stunning New York City salon, perched in the heart of midtown, and every single time I’ve visited, I have bounced out with the most beautifully perfect blonde locks courtesy of Kyle White and Luca Blandi. It’s a salon so good I have literally booked trips to New York just to visit. Since work has kept me tied to my desk for the past few years, I’ve not been able to make my pilgrimage to the salon, and instead have had to satisfy my hair’s need with grabbing Oscar Blandi products over Amazon. One of my must-haves is the Blow Out Creme. Lightweight and delicately scented, I smooth a few pea sized squeezes of the formula throughout my wet lengths and ends, adding a little extra around the hairline where it can get a little messy. I then get to work with the blowdryer. The result is hair which feels super soft, looks healthy and shiny, and crucially, it stays tidy all day long. There is no frizzing, and hair stays bouncy all day long. It might not be quite as wonderful as a visit to the salon, but in Scotland, it’s as close as I’ll get!
