When it comes to day-to-day activities, I’m not the luckiest person in the world. I don’t find car park spaces right outside the buildings I’m heading into, it’s a big deal if I win £3 on the lottery, but despite this, I keep testing my luck in competitions, and this time, it paid off!
A few weeks back I entered @themakeupmaestro’s instagram competition to win this stunning Elizabeth Scarlett x Decleor skincare set, and I was picked! Made up of a stunning (and surprisingly roomy) rose-embroidered Elizabeth Scarlett makeup bag, and three of Decleor’s best-loved rose products, it’s a perfect choice for a dry-skinned girl like me, and they’ve been a lifesaver to use during my recent travels.
Rose has a whole host of skincare benefits – from regulating the skin’s pH balance, to having calming, anti-inflammatory properties, it’s the perfect choice for dry skin, which is easily irritated like mine. Decleor’s Rose D’Orient Aromessence was actually the first product I tried from the brand literally decades ago, when we first started holidaying in the Middle East, and I needed something to use when I’d been out on the water for a little too long.
Cracking open the bottle of Decleor’s Aromessence Rose D’Orient was a complete blast from the past, in the best possible way. First of all, it smells absolutely incredible – it’s a rich rose-tinged floral which feels luxe and luxurious to apply. A few drops patted into freshly cleansed skin feels like a facial in a bottle. The Aromessence has a rich, almost oil-like texture, which sinks into skin, leaving it plump and hydrated, and it’s a perfect base for the other two moisturisers if you’re looking for an intense burst of hydration.
The Aromessence Rose D’Orient Balm is possibly my favourite new product I’ve tried in months. It is the most glorious, hydrating balm, which literally melts into skin without a hint of greasiness or heaviness. The formula is 100% natural, and is filled with powerful essential oils such as Rose, chamomile & geranium to soothe your skin throughout the evening. Even though the balm is designed for night-use, on days when I’m just heading to the gym, or working from home, I smooth on a generous layer of the stuff and get on with my day. The result is skin which looks and feels like I’ve just had a facial!
The third product in the set is the Harmonie Calm Organic Soothing Comfort 2-in-1 Mask & Moisturiser. A mouthful of a name for a product which works to soothe and revived irritated skin. I love slathering it on after one of my Diamondtome facials, as it works to reduce redness, and it deeply hydrates, and it feels wonderful after micro-roller treatments too.
Huge thanks to @TheMakeupMaestro for holding the competition – you can find Decleor products here.
