Is it just me, or is this time of year a bit tricky when it comes to beauty? The light, glossy textures of summer feel too insubstantial for the shorter days, yet the changeable temperatures rule out the heavier formulas of winter. I don’t feel quite ready to relinquish that summer sheen, to I’ve been loving Cocoa Brown by Marissa Carter’s Golden Goddess Oil as a subtle facial highlighter, and a way to fake glowing skin before winter means I’m in knitwear until May.
Packaged in an easy-to-use pump top bottle, you only need a couple of drops to achieve a natural looking, subtle glow. On the face, I dot a little of the oil onto freshly moisturised cheekbones, and blend using my fingers or Beauty Blender. Smoothed onto arms and legs, the oil gives skin the sort of glow that normally takes a couple of weeks in the sun to achieve – glossy and glowing, and it never feels overly sparkly either. Since you only really need a few pumps of it (or a couple of drops if you’re using it on the face) it’s a bottle which is probably going to last until next summer (!) and I’m sure I’ll be using it during the festive season to give skin that much-needed glow.
