Is it just me, or do the beauty brands find new ways to make Christmas more exciting in terms of new products? I love this style of fun cracker – they’re amazing as Secret Santa gifts, or as stocking stuffers. They’re also perfect for trying out new brands or products, as the prices for the products tend to be lower than normal.
I’ve never managed to give the Kat Von D brand a go before, so the Love Big or Go Home is a perfect entry to the brand. Containing a full-sized Go Big or Go Home Mascara, and a mini Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the fan-favourite suit-all neutral ‘Lovecraft’, I can’t imagine anyone not being over the moon to unwrap this on Christmas morning!
Now that we’re in the heart of Christmas Party Season, a mini lipstick is always going to go down a treat – and one in a shade as pretty as Lovecraft is a handbag must-have. A cool-toned purple-pink, the liquid lipstick applies smoothly and evenly, and dries down to a matte, opaque finish. The Go Big or Go Home is one of the brand’s hero products, and it’s a mascara that’s been on my list for a while now. Packaged in a chunky black tube, it’s not going to be a product that gets lost in your makeup bag. Much like the packaging, the formula is pretty big and chunky itself – this is not your everyday coat and go. Instead it’s a rich, velvety mascara, which coats lashes, leaving them plumped and seriously black.
The chunky brush grabs each individual lash, coating them and leaving you with a false-lash effect. Even worn throughout the day, there’s no flaking or smudging. Instead, lashes stay photo-ready, even through Scotland’s (numerous) rain showers and cold winds.
