When it comes to festive beauty, I’m all about a little extra shine. From glossy lips to glitzy eyes, everything looks a whole lot better when it’s got a bit of gleam. When Bobbi Brown sent over their limited edition Luxe Eye Shadow Rich Gemstone in Opal Moonstone, I couldn’t have been more excited.

I’m pretty picky when it comes to eyeshadows – on a daily basis, I rotate through a rainbow of cool-toned neutrals, and I love to amp things up a little for evenings out. Since I tend to favour monochromatic looks, I love playing with texture – which is exactly where Bobbi Brown’s Luxe Shadow Rich Gemstone in Opal Moonstone comes in. A warm-toned neutral pink, it’s basically skin-toned on me, so it works beautifully to add light and sheen to eyes.

Buffed entirely over the lid, Opal Moonstone is a wash of reflective light which looks absolutely beautiful when paired with my regular low-key makeup looks. Amplified by a dark brown liner, it makes creating a flattering look incredibly easy, and I love it as an easy transformer for day-to-night looks. On evenings when I’m feeling a little braver, and experimenting with a darker, smokier eye, Opal Moonstone brings some much needed light and shine. Buffed into the inner corners of the eyes and across the brow bone, it gives a real sense of grown-up glamour, perfect for the Christmas party circuit.

As if the colour and finish of the eyeshadow wasn’t glorious enough, the texture of the shadow is absolutely dream. Smooth, and almost creamy in consistency, the shadow is as beautifully applied with a brush as it is with a finger. When I was a diffused glow, I buff the shadow in using a Bobbi Brown shadow brush, and when I want a more intense finish, I use my finger to apply. I’ve also found that buffing a little of the shadow over the top of my regular neutral shades gives a beautifully twinkly finish, which feels tailor-made for the Christmas period!
