Cooking with Le Creuset Signature Cast Iron Frying Pan*

One of my very first ‘major’ hoe purchases, back when I was at university and preparing to move into my first proper apartment was a Le Creuset cast iron frying pan. It’s a huge blue one, and even though I bought it over ten years ago, I still use it weekly, and I can’t even begin to guess how many meals it’s produced over the years. By far it’s my most-used kitchen item, and in the years since, I’ve added a few more pieces to the family, with a dutch oven, more pans and pots, and I absolutely adore each and every one.

The newest addition to my collection is the Signature Cast Iron Frying Pan in the stunning new shade ‘meringue’. The most divine soft putty-beige, it’s a beautifully chic neutral, which would look incredible in every type and colour of kitchen. Unlike my original purchase, which, if I’m honest can be a bit heavy once it’s full, the Signature Cast Iron Frying Pan is easier to move around the kitchen, and clever features, like the lip on each side of it, makes using it an absolute dream.

I’ve been using it for everything from omelettes to curries, and I’m absolutely delighted each and every time. Unlike other pots and pans, Le Creuset’s frying pan is made from a single cast iron piece, and as a result, the pan can withstand any cooking temperatures. you can think of. So, whether you tend to cook on the hob, or induction stovetop, or you need to pop your dish under the grill to brown and crisp toppings, or even place it in the oven to bake your supper, the pan comes right out looking brand new.

The interior of the pan is coated with Le Creuset’s specialist satin black enamel finish. Extremely durable and easy to clean, it won’t peel or rub away, and it even encourages the caramelisation of food, so your dishes taste even better than normal. Crucially, the interior lining means you don’t need to worry about ‘seasoning’ the iron, instead, I just wash by hand after each use, then pop away in the cupboard.

To go alongside such a gorgeous pan, I couldn’t resist this adorable silicon heart cool tool. Part of the brand’s Valentines collection, it adds a subtle  bit of colour into the kitchen, and it’s super handy too! You can use it for everything from a countertop protector, to a grip to easily open stubborn jars!
