I feel like Nars’ Orgasm has gone past the need for an introduction – I’ve had the blush in my beauty boxes since I was at university, and throughout the years I’ve picked up variations of the shade in the form of glosses, shadows and blush/bronzer duos. As a rule, I’m not a big blush wearer – naturally I’ve got quite pink-toned skin, so anything added can leave me looking like I’ve run up few flights of stairs, but there’s something about Nars’ Orgasm which is pretty magical. A warm-toned coral pink with golden shimmer running through, it’s a suit-all shade which leaves a delicate flattering flush.
One of the newest additions the Orgasm lineup is the Afterglow lip balm – a sheer, lightweight product which gives lips a flattering wash of colour as well as a hit of moisture. I’m not a fan of heavy makeup anyway, but during the summer, I always seek out the lightest products I can find. The Afterglow balm has become a handbag must-have (I’ve bought two shades since I love it so much) and the pretty sheer coral feels like it was made for summer skin.
Packaged in a seriously pretty, mirrored bullet, I apply the balm straight onto my lips without the need for a brush. With a single swipe you get a sheer wash of pink, although it’s easy to build if you’re looking for a punchier finish. I just love the sheer glow it gives to lips, and although it’s not a glossy finish, it’s not matte either – so it’s super flattering.
Since it’s a balm, it’s obviously not the longest-wearing product in my makeup bag, but I don’t really mind touching my makeup up whilst I’m out and about. It’s the perfect antidote to my more boring lip balms, as Nars is infused with Monoï Hydrating Complex as well as antioxidants, so it works to really hydrate lips over time. Even when the ‘balmy’ feeling is gone, my lips stay pinker than normal – perfect for combatting that ‘foundation lips’ look!
Nars Afterglow Lip Balm in Orgasm is priced at £22 and is available here (UK) and here (US)
