When it comes to lockdown beauty, there has been a single hairstyle which has brought me through to the other end – the pony tail. Since I normal wash and straighten my hair daily, I’ve taken the opportunity to give my ends a bit of a rest, and the straighteners have only been brought out once since the end of March. The result it hair which feels much thicker and healthier than before, and although I could spend days listing the benefits of my low-impact approach to styling, the one thing that has been killing me is my halo of fluff which appears around my hairline approximately a minute after blowdrying my hair.
At first I thought it was broken hair which had been heat damaged, but going through old photos (another lockdown task successfully completed) I realised that I’ve had a bit of fluff around the crown since forever. Once my hair is up in a pony (I’ve also gone back to only using scrunchies, and have invested in a few silk ones for maximum hair health) I wait a few minutes for my baby hairs to puff out, then, using the wand, simply brush them back into place. The effect is tidy rather than severe, and the serum leaves ends looking healthy rather than greasy or oily. It also smells incredible too!
