When it comes to weather, this summer feels like it’s been a bit of a washout. From grey days through to last week’s insane storms (we had 12 hours straight of thunder and lightening) it feels like we’ve bunny-hopped over summer straight into the heart of autumn/winter. So, even though I’m mourning last sunshine days spent reading or pottering about, I have been forced inside where I’m most productive, and in an effort to make the house as cosy as possible, I’ve been ransacking my candle cupboard, and I’ve unearthed a real gem with Holistic London’s Bergamot & Wild Flowers scented soy candle.
Packaged in a seriously chic black jar, complete with screw-on lid, the Holistic London candle looks as good as it smells. The Bergamot & Wild Flowers fragrance is absolutely perfect for burning on chilled-out evenings. Not overly floral, it’s quite a spa-like scent, which has a really premium feel to it. Since the gyms are (still) closed here, I’ve been doing a few Pilates classes at home, so on the evenings when I’ve got a glass, I’ve been lighting the candle up a few minutes before I’m due to start, so that my whole room feels like I’m in a high-end studio.
Holistic London’s candles are all handmade and poured from renewable, eco-friendly soy wax, and there is no plastic packaging either. Rather wonderfully, the candles are all sustainable, and they’re vegan too – so if you’re looking for an ethical treat which doesn’t break the bank, I’d seriously recommend taking a look. Thanks to the soy wax, the candle isn’t at all sooty, and it has burnt slowly and evenly – leaving the whole upstairs smelling incredible every time I light it. The scent selection ranges from zesty to woody, so as the nights draw in, I’m going to invest in a few more to enjoy during autumn and winter.
Holistic London Bergamot & Wild Flowers candle is priced at £20 and is available here
