By Terry – Baume de Rose

I’m not going to lie – I’ve got a bit of a thing about overpriced lip balms. Call it a collection, an experiment to see if they’re really all that good or whatever else you’d like, but it’s an expensive habit, and I’ve got a few real favourites – one of which is the By Terry Baume de Rose – perhaps the O.G. when it comes to bougie balms. I’d held off trying it for a few years, as I had a sneaking suspicion that I’d fall in love, but gave in last year, and bought it as a bit of a birthday treat. Spoiler alert – it’s glorious and this is my second tub of the stuff.

Packaged in an uber-chic glass pot, the balm might not be the best for travel, but I wouldn’t be without it. For me, it sits somewhere between a balm and a gloss thanks to the rich formula. Applied straight from the jar, it feels hydrating on the lips with a silky texture and gorgeous scent. The balm’s fragrance is somewhere between fruity and floral, it’s not a traditional rose, and it feels lighter and more youthful. It gives lips a milky-pink tint, and thanks to how hydrating the formula is, it stays on lips for around an hour or so. If you’re looking for something to beat winter lips in the most luxurious way possible – this is the balm for you!

By Terry Baume de Rose is priced at £40 and is available here (UK) and here (US)
