When it comes to beauty, I’m not sure anyone does it quite as well as the French. I’m in love with their natural flair for makeup – it’s never too done or too contrived, which is exactly what I’m after. I’ve been in the mood to treat myself to something of a winter bronzer – something to warm my skin tone up, without looking too tan or orange, and By Terry’s Compact-Expert Dual Powder Blush & Bronzer in No 3 Apricot Glow fitted the bill easily.

Packaged in an ultra-chic black compact, the powder works in two ways – the larger, outer powder sets and magnifies makeup, whilst the inner circle highlights skin, leaving it looking naturally glowy. Since I use pretty sheer formulas on a daily basis (Glossier Skin Tint and their concealer is my usual), I can sometimes find powders too heavy or, they cake weirdly which leaves me looking like I’m wearing a much heavier base than I actually am.

You can choose from four shades, which span from super-light to deep, so most skin tones should be able to find a match. Since I wanted a little extra pep (naturally I’m Caspar-pale) I opted for No 3 Apricot Glow, although I could probably get away with using the lighter shades if I wanted a regular setting powder.

After applying my skin tint, concealer and a little bronzer as usual, I sweep the powder over my cheekbones, nose, forehead and chin. As well as dealing with any extra shine, the powder leaves skin with a beautiful luminosity which never errs to the sparkly. It’s such a perfect finishing touch to my makeup regime, and it gives such a natural looking healthy glow.
By Terry Dual Expert Powder is priced at £38 and is available here (UK) and here (US)
