When it comes to festive celebrations, you can’t beat a glass of great bubbly! Obviously indulging in a few glasses of fizz at Christmas parties is off the table this year, but I’ve resolved to keep the tradition alive at home, and I’m going to be doing it with Vilarnau – a Spanish Cava which I’ve fallen more than a little in love with.
Available as both a Rosé Brut and Brut Reserva, the first thing I have to talk about are the bottles. Decorated with tiles inspired by Barcelona’s Park Güell, both options are absolutely beautiful. They’re real showstoppers, and would make such a gorgeous gift this festive season.
The Brut Reserva is a gorgeously crisp option – with apple and pear notes, it’s super drinkable, and it makes me feel like I should be enjoying a fancy evening out. There is a subtle floral sweetness which is just delicious, and it pairs wonderfully with fish dishes too! The Rosé Brut is equally yummy, and it’s a fun salmon pink shade – perfect to include in seasonal cocktails! With a fruity, berry fragrance and notes of peach, it feels like such a treat to enjoy, and it pairs so well with chicken dishes, or we’ve even been enjoying it with fruity puddings too!
