I know that Valentine’s Day isn’t going to be much of anything this year, but despite lockdowns and regulations, I always think it’s fun to mark holidays, even if they are just a bit of fluff. So, in preparation for this weekend, I thought it might be fun to share some of my newest lip favourites – both of which come from Pixi and both are perfect for adding a little glamour to the weekend.
First up is the Shea Butter Lip Balm in Sweet Peach. A warm rosy-toned nude, it’s the perfect your-lips-but-better shade I’ve been reaching for during the day. Having a little boost of colour makes me feel more pulled together (even if I’ve only got a swipe of bronzer on) and the hydrating formula is perfect for treating dry, winter lips. I also like to have it on-hand pre-Zoom meeting, as it gives a flattering glow of colour, rather than a full-on lipstick which sometimes feels too much.
When I took the Liplift Max out of the box, I literally squealed. I’m always on the hunt for the perfect nude gloss, and honestly, I hit jackpot with this one. Honey Sheen is the perfect peachy-neutral which looks as pretty layered over lipsticks and stains as it does worn alone. A volume-enhancing gloss, which hydrates and firms lips, it’s not a burning gloss like other plumping formula, and instead has a lovely minty finish. It’s one of five available shades, and I love the rich formula, which doesn’t feel too sticky.
Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm is priced at £8 and is available here (UK) and here (US), and Pixi Liplift Max is priced at £12 and is available here (UK) and here (US).
